Fabrizio Romano reports that French striker Anthony Martial has agreed to join Monterrey for the rest of the Apertura 2025. Although there were recent rumors about a move to Pumas, he chose Rayados after his current club gave their approval.
This transfer was made possible by goalkeeper Esteban Andrada’s move to Spain, which freed up a foreign player spot in Monterrey’s lineup. Transfermarkt values Martial at €7.5 million, indicating the deal may have cost Monterrey about $8 million.
Martial’s notable moments include 317 competitive matches at Manchester United, where he scored 90 goals and provided 54 assists. He won several titles with the club, including the Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, and Community Shield. He was also part of the French squad that won the 2021 Nations League.
While the deal is finalized, Martial’s debut will take some time. He will need to travel to Mexico, complete medical tests, and finalize registration. His first match is anticipated around the 9th or 10th round of the Apertura 2025, with Monterrey supporters looking forward to seeing him enhance their offensive lineup.
