Reports from AS indicate that Anthony Martial’s debut for Monterrey was disappointing as the French striker missed a key chance in the final minutes of a 2-2 draw against América at Estadio BBVA. He was expected to make an impact off the bench, but instead, he left fans wishing for a different outcome.

Martial was about to enter the match when América scored their equalizer, which dampened the atmosphere. In the 90th minute, he received the ball in the box but mishandled it while trying to create space. This allowed a defender to take the ball away, and it was even noted that Sergio Canales was in a better position for a shot.

Although his teammates continued to search for him with passes, Martial struggled to get past América’s defense. His short appearance lasted only six minutes, yet one missed opportunity overshadowed his debut.

This draw affected Monterrey’s position at the top of the table, as Cruz Azul‘s win allowed them to take the lead. Fans who were hopeful for Martial’s performance are now anxious to see if this shaky start is just a minor setback or a sign of upcoming challenges.
