Mason Mount is expected to stay at Manchester United next season as his transfer price is too high for interested clubs.

Since joining from Chelsea for £55 million in 2023, Mount has had difficulty making a significant impact at Manchester United.

The 27-year-old has faced ongoing fitness problems and has only started 23 league games in nearly three seasons with the club.

While there are rumors about a potential summer transfer, journalist Carl Anka expressed skepticism about this. On the Talk of the Devils podcast, he noted that Mount’s fitness issues and high salary could be obstacles to any transfer.

Aston Villa and Fulham have shown interest in the former Chelsea midfielder.

“For any club in the Premier League or Spain, it’s hard to justify the cost of Mason Mount. He has a poor injury history, and his wages are between £150k-200k a week,” Anka commented.

“It’s difficult to see any club willing to pay his wages while also meeting a transfer fee of around £30 million, which would be necessary for United to break even.”

“I believe Mount will be with Manchester United next season because he’s simply too costly for other clubs.”
