Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Fabian McCarthy has shared his thoughts on the team’s prospects for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
The Chiefs have added 11 new players, including Khanyisa Mayo, Thabiso Monyane, and Lebohang Maboe, generating excitement among supporters.
McCarthy believes that while winning the league this year may be too ambitious, a top-four finish is attainable.

“A top-four finish for Chiefs is definitely realistic. With their new signings, they seem promising and have started well,” McCarthy stated in an interview with FARPost. “I see them finishing in the top four without putting too much pressure on them. They will also compete with Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. Sekhukhune United is also in the mix.”
Next, the Chiefs will face Marumo Gallants in the Betway Premiership at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday at 17:30.
