One significant message came from Lionel Messi, who played alongside Dembélé at Barcelona:

“Big Us! Congratulations, I’m really happy for you. You deserve it,” Messi wrote on Dembélé’s Instagram post.

This is Dembélé’s first Ballon d’Or, while Messi has won it eight times. They played together at Barcelona from 2017 to 2021.
