Inter Miami CF delivered a powerful performance against FC Cincinnati in the 2025 MLS Eastern Conference Semifinal. Lionel Messi was central to the action, scoring one goal and providing three assists, leading his team to a decisive 4-0 victory. The match, held at Cincinnati’s home ground, TQL Stadium, saw Inter Miami control the game from start to finish.
With this win, Inter Miami has advanced to its first-ever Eastern Conference Final in the club’s history. They are now set to face New York City FC in the final. Messi had a direct hand in all four of the team’s goals during the match.
The scoring began in the 19th minute when Messi headed in a goal from a cross, following a smart “give-and-go” play with teammate Matías Silveti. Shortly after, Messi assisted Silveti, who scored with a long-range shot to double Miami’s lead. In the second half, Tadeo Allende secured the win by scoring two more goals, both of which were created from Messi’s precise passes and quick plays.
This performance also saw Messi set a new record for the most goal contributions in a single MLS playoff season, with a total of 12 (six goals and six assists).
