Former Orlando Pirates defender Benson Mhlongo is pleased with the team’s performance under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
The Buccaneers are unbeaten in 10 matches and have already won the MTN8.
“Since the bus accident, Pirates have been impressive,” Mhlongo told KickOff. “It’s encouraging to see all the players doing well. They need to keep this level in both African competitions and the domestic league,” he added.

“When a team competes well internally, you’re likely to see dominance,” he said.
“In contrast, Chiefs have just begun and lack a consistent starting lineup. Pirates have kept a stable team for the last two seasons.
“Chiefs need to stick with a consistent group for two seasons and focus on developing unity. They must settle on a coach and allow him two or three seasons to have an impact.
“That’s what Pirates did with José Riveiro – they gave him the time he needed,” Mhlongo concluded.
