Miami FC has announced plans to move to Homestead as part of a $300 million, 80-acre Sports Performance Hub. This development will include a 15,000-seat stadium, a professional academy, a youth boarding school, public recreation facilities, and a sports-themed hotel, according to the club’s statement.

The announcement took place at Homestead City Hall, where Mayor Steve Losner, the City Council, and Miami FC co-owner Riccardo Silva signed the agreement to kick off one of the largest sports and community development projects in South Florida, all without using taxpayer money.

The new stadium, designed by LaBella Associates, will take the place of FIU’s Pitbull Stadium, which has been Miami FC’s home since 2016. The venue will host professional soccer games as well as community events, including the Homestead Championship Rodeo.

USL Deputy CEO Justin Papadakis described the project as a significant step in the league’s growth across the country, following similar stadium projects in Pittsburgh, Detroit, and Sacramento. With the 2026 FIFA World Cup approaching, he noted that Miami FC’s relocation represents an important opportunity for soccer in South Florida. Club CEO Mario Roitman also expressed gratitude to FIU for their decade-long partnership as the transition begins.
