Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool player since 2017, seems to be pushing for a quiet exit from the club. This season, the Egyptian forward has voiced strong criticism towards his coach, Arne Slot. Many believe such comments are unexpected given Salah’s experience at 33. Others speculate that he is preparing to urge the club to allow him to leave in the upcoming winter transfer window. When asked about the situation, Mido advised his fellow countryman to consider moving on.
“I’ve been in this situation before. When Liverpool plays, all of Egypt is gathered around their TVs, waiting for Salah to score. Everyone feels proud that their son is playing in the best league in the world. This puts enormous pressure on him to perform. He is not just any player; he is a king here in Egypt. People need to understand that. I experienced the same when I played for Tottenham. Entire Egypt was at cafes waiting for me to play. They were proud of me, just as they are proud of Salah. This kind of pressure is real. I think he should leave. If you lose trust with the coach, it’s hard to repair. But if he leaves, he should do so on good terms—he has contributed so much to Liverpool. He is a legend,” he stated in an interview with Skysports.
