Mo Salah has praised Liverpool teammate Dominik Szoboszlai, stating he is playing like “one of the best players in the world” this season.
The Hungarian midfielder was instrumental in Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Brighton in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday, scoring a remarkable goal to extend their lead after Curtis Jones opened the scoring.
Salah assisted Szoboszlai’s goal and also won and scored a penalty, marking the third time he has accomplished all three feats in a single match for Liverpool.
While Salah had a standout performance at Anfield, he credited the versatile midfielder with being essential for the team’s cup ambitions this year.
“There was pressure for sure on the penalty,” Salah said to TNT Sports. “This win is crucial for us. It boosts our confidence for the upcoming matches.
“Our cup run really hinges on his [Szoboszlai’s] performances. We trust him a lot. This season he is among the best players in the world.
“Winning trophies is wonderful. Hopefully, we can continue this way.”
