Morocco is currently competing in the AFCON 2025 tournament, with Manchester United defender Noussair Mazraoui included in the squad as they aim for victory.
The team, which won the FIFA Arab Cup in 2025, has called up Mazraoui as they prepare for the tournament.
So far, Morocco has achieved two wins and one draw in the tournament.
One of their victories was against Zambia on Sunday, where Morocco triumphed 3-0, thanks to two goals from Ayoub El Kabbi and a goal from Brahim Diaz.
In that match, Noussair Mazraoui kept a clean sheet, recorded two tackles, made one clearance, had an interception, completed two dribbles, and won all his ground duels.
Following a draw against Mali, Morocco is at the top of their AFCON group and has qualified for the Round of 16, although their next opponent has not yet been determined.
With the match concluded, Moroccan media have commented on the game, the team’s performance, and Mazraoui’s contributions.
Northern Africa Post described the game as “one-sided,” highlighting Morocco’s dominance throughout.
Al Mountakhab noted that “Regragui relied on him in this match as a left-back, after he played on the right in the previous two games.”
The source added that “his performance was effective on the left flank, contributing to several attempts with his intelligent passes and usual realism in the center.”
As media reactions continue, Morocco will soon shift their focus to the upcoming Round of 16 match, looking to advance further in the tournament.
