Morocco Claims Third Africa Nations Championship Title by Defeating Madagascar in 2024 Final

Morocco won its third African Nations Championship title by defeating first-time finalist Madagascar 3-2 in the final on Saturday at the Safaricom Stadium Kasarani in Nairobi.

Previously, Morocco had secured the championship in 2018 and 2020.

Oussama Lamlioui scored two goals, while Youssef Mehri added another for Morocco. Madagascar’s goals came from Clavin Felicite Manohantsoa and Toky Niaina Rakotondraibe.

In the semifinals, Morocco eliminated the defending champions, Senegal, through penalties, while Madagascar triumphed over Sudan in the other semifinal.

Senegal managed to defeat Sudan on penalties to claim third place in this year’s tournament.
