The Portuguese coach is nearing a comeback to the Premier League.
José Mourinho is one of the top candidates to take over as West Ham’s new head coach.
Details: As reported by Football Insider, there is growing discontent at West Ham regarding Graham Potter’s performance, making Mourinho a potential replacement. He has expressed interest in returning to London, where he owns property, and former club scout Mick Brown has mentioned that he enjoys his time in the city.
Potter was hired to stabilize the team but has not met expectations in the last seven months. Heavy losses against Sunderland (0-3) and Chelsea (1-5) have caused frustration among supporters. A brief relief came with a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Mourinho has been preparing for a return to England, and West Ham seems to be a prime option. The club’s management is exploring other possibilities as well, including Frank Lampard, who is currently managing Coventry City and remains well-regarded due to his family’s connections to West Ham.
Reminder: West Ham has reintroduced veteran Łukasz Fabiański into the squad.
