Mamelodi Sundowns defender Mothobi Mvala is dealing with a significant setback.

Coach Miguel Cardoso announced that the Bafana Bafana player will need surgery.

This situation arose during the 31-year-old’s first game back after three months out due to an injury.

Mvala played only 22 minutes last Wednesday against Golden Arrows in the Betway Premiership before injuring his knee during the match.

“Unfortunately, we lost Mothobi; he will need surgery,” Cardoso said, according to iDiskiTimes.
