The German national team faced an unexpected loss to Slovakia in the World Cup qualifiers, leading to frustration from head coach Julian Nagelsmann.
Details: The coach emphasized that players must always give 100 percent when representing the national team. He may consider selecting players who, while not as technically skilled as the current roster, are prepared to put in total effort on the field.
Quote: “We are not at a level where we can just show up and expect to win playing at 80 percent. If we lack commitment and passion, we may need to rethink our approach—technical skills won’t make a difference. I can’t explain it. Everyone needs to realize that our aim is to qualify for the World Cup and perform well there. Today, we were far from that standard. Aside from a brief improvement at the start of the second half, our performance was lacking. I don’t want to hear any more excuses about talent. I’m looking for the right attitude and commitment. It might be time to choose players who may not be as skilled but will give everything for the team,” Nagelsmann told ARD in an interview.
