Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has addressed the club’s interest in Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo is reportedly being considered for a move to Napoli due to limited opportunities at Old Trafford. The 20-year-old has yet to start a Premier League match this season, and he seems eager to leave in January.
Napoli has successfully recruited players from Manchester United who were not in the first team. Both Scott McTominay and Rasmus Hojlund have found new life in Serie A, with McTominay even winning Serie A’s MVP award last season.
A possible transfer for Mainoo is under review, with Manna confirming the club is looking into it.
“He is a player who has been linked to Napoli since August, especially considering his age, potential, and the opportunity to transfer,” Manna stated, according to Football Italia.
“We have some key players missing right now, but they will hopefully return stronger and more determined. We need to assess everything carefully, so we’ll see how things develop.”
