Nashville SC has signed free agent winger Cristian Espinoza, according to The Athletic.
The 30-year-old from Argentina will be the club’s third designated player, joining Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge.
Espinoza, a two-time MLS All-Star, played the last seven seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes. Multiple teams from MLS and other leagues reportedly expressed interest in him this offseason.
During his time with the Quakes from 2019 to 2025, Espinoza scored 36 goals and provided 70 assists in 218 MLS matches (211 starts). He holds the franchise record with 83 assists across all competitions.
His contract lasted until after the 2025 season, where he finished with four goals and 12 assists in 31 league appearances.
In Nashville, he fills the designated player role left by veteran defender Walker Zimmerman, who has signed with Toronto FC.
Nashville will start the 2026 MLS regular season at home against the New England Revolution on February 21.
