The countries that have booked their places in the 2024/2025 UEFA Nations League semi-finals have been announced. Portugal progressed in dramatic fashion after losing the first leg to Denmark. The return leg took place at the Jose Alvalade stadium in the early hours of Monday morning (24/3).

Portugal needed to overturn a 1-0 aggregate deficit to Denmark. Cristiano Ronaldo failed to convert a penalty in the 6th minute. However, Portugal’s fighting spirit never wavered and Ronaldo scored in the 32nd minute.

With the score 3-2 at the end of normal time, the aggregate score was 3-3, forcing the match into extra time. It was in this extra time that two substitutes, Trincao and Goncalo Ramos, emerged as Portugal’s heroes with goals.

Their hard work earned Portugal a place in the semi-finals, where they will face Germany. It was a performance that showed Portugal’s resilience and ability to bounce back from difficult situations.
