Veteran Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic has signed a one-year contract with Serie A club Sassuolo.
The 37-year-old recently ended his contract with Lyon by mutual agreement. He brings extensive experience from his time at Chelsea and Manchester United.
This will be Matic’s second season in Italy after previously playing under Jose Mourinho at Roma in 2022-23.

Sassuolo, who won Serie B last season, faced a 2-0 defeat against defending champions Napoli in their Serie A opener on Saturday.
The contract includes an automatic one-year extension if specific goals are met.
