Jamaal Lascelles is leaving Newcastle United to join Leicester City on transfer deadline day.
The 32-year-old will conclude his time with Newcastle, where he signed from Nottingham Forest in August 2014.
Lascelles made 253 appearances for Newcastle and captained the team to the Championship title and Premier League promotion in the 2016/17 season.
Last season, he did not play at all due to an ACL injury and has played only 19 minutes in the Premier League this season.
Despite not playing last season, he celebrated winning the Carabao Cup with current captains Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier after the team’s victory at Wembley.
His contract was set to expire in the summer, but Leicester has moved to sign him now. According to Sky Sports, the Foxes have outpaced several other second-tier clubs in acquiring Lascelles, who will undergo a medical before finalizing his move on Monday.
