Newcastle United faces a significant injury setback ahead of their match against Chelsea, as Tino Livramento’s condition is “not looking good,” according to Eddie Howe.
The team has reached the semi-finals of the League Cup after a 2-1 victory over Fulham at St. James’ Park on Wednesday.
Lewis Miley secured the win with a stoppage-time goal from a corner, following an equalizer from Sasa Lukic after Yoane Wissa had opened the scoring.
However, the victory was marred by news of Livramento’s knee injury. He was substituted in the 76th minute by Alex Murphy after receiving treatment on the field.

“Tino’s injury is the big negative,” Howe stated in the post-match press conference.
“We don’t know the severity yet, but it’s concerning. It appears to be a knee issue.
“He’s a straightforward guy, so when he said he needed to come off, it raised some alarms.”
Newcastle has recently experienced several injuries in their defense. Dan Burn broke a rib during last weekend’s Tyne-Wear Derby, joining Kieran Trippier, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Emil Krafth, and Jamaal Lascelles on the injury list. Nick Pope and Will Osula are also currently unavailable due to injuries.
