Footem.in – Nick Woltemade is set to join Newcastle United following a record transfer agreement with Stuttgart, valued at approximately Rp1.64 trillion. This move concludes Newcastle’s lengthy search for a new striker.
Transfer Records and Agreement Details
According to German football expert Florian Plettenberg, Newcastle will pay an initial fee of £73.5 million (around Rp1.58 trillion), with an additional £4.3 million (about Rp92.4 billion) in bonuses.
The 23-year-old forward has already said his goodbyes to his teammates at Stuttgart and is now preparing for a medical examination in Tyneside before being officially announced as a new player for Newcastle.
This transfer also marks a new chapter in Alexander Isak’s future. The Swedish striker has expressed interest in moving to Liverpool, but Newcastle plans to sign two forwards before letting him go.
Nonetheless, the spotlight is on Woltemade, who will soon don the proud black and white jersey of St James’ Park.
The “Two-Meter Messi” Nickname
Despite standing tall at 198 cm, Woltemade is often compared to Lionel Messi due to his exceptional dribbling skills.
Stuttgart’s captain, Atakan Karazor, has even referred to him as the “Two-Meter Messi-Musiala,” praising his ball control akin to that of the Argentine star and Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala.
Impressive Statistics
Woltemade’s performance last season solidifies his reputation as a dangerous striker. He scored 12 goals in 17 starts in the Bundesliga.
Furthermore, he was the top scorer in the Euro U21, netting six goals, although his team ultimately lost to England, featuring Tino Livramento, in the final.
