Newell’s has received a FIFA transfer ban, preventing the club from signing players for the next three transfer windows. This ban is due to a complaint from Uruguay’s Liverpool over an unpaid fee concerning striker Juan Ignacio Ramírez, who currently plays for Sport Recife.
The Rosario club stated that the issue originated from a banking error during the international transfer and expressed optimism about resolving it without impacting the club’s future. Newell’s issued an official statement to reassure its fans, acknowledging the ban but calling it arbitrary. “We are actively working to lift the ban and are making progress,” the club stated.
The statement emphasized that the team’s performance will remain unaffected. “We are approaching this matter with seriousness and commitment, always prioritizing the club’s interests and ensuring normal operations. This situation will not hinder our sporting future,” it continued.
While the ban has attracted attention, Newell’s views it more as an administrative issue than a significant setback. Club officials are hopeful that the matter will be resolved before the next transfer window, enabling them to strengthen the team as intended.
