The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed Akeem Ishola Busari as the head coach of the Flamingos, Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team.
He succeeds Bankole Olowookere, who led the team to a notable bronze medal at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in India.
Busari’s main task will be preparing the Flamingos for the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in Morocco.
Nigeria will compete against either Niger or Guinea in the second round of the qualifiers next month, marking a significant start to Busari’s new role.
