Former Manchester United player and club icon Nicky Butt has come out in support of head coach Ruben Amorim, who is facing criticism due to the team’s slow start in the Premier League.
Details: In a discussion with FourFourTwo, Butt pointed out that the issues at United are much larger than just the manager’s performance, arguing that firing Amorim would not solve anything.
“If United manages to finish in the top half of the table this season, it won’t be cause for celebration, but the truth is that getting back to the old days will take a long time,” Butt stated.

He believes that even the best football experts wouldn’t be able to fix the situation at Old Trafford quickly:
“The club has deeper issues. Fire Amorim—and then what? No one knows who would take over. Even Sir Alex Ferguson, at his best, couldn’t fix everything immediately. Putting Guardiola or Klopp in charge would lead to the same results.”
Butt also mentioned that the current team is missing a strong leader like Roy Keane:
“Keane would energize the locker room and be the type of captain needed to guide the team forward.”
After six rounds of the Premier League, Manchester United is currently in 14th place with only 7 points.
Reminder: Manchester United and Tottenham are looking to secure Brentford midfielder Yehor Yarmolyuk.
