As reported by DAZN, Nico Paz has stated that Lionel Messi has significantly impacted his growth at Como 1907. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder mentioned that training with Argentina’s captain and analyzing his plays has contributed to his development as a player.

“Playing with Messi allows you to observe him closely and learn a lot,” he said after scoring in Como’s 1-1 draw with Genoa in Serie A. Paz noted that he watches Messi’s highlights on YouTube before each match, aiming to mimic some of his techniques.

Having scored eight goals and provided ten assists in 54 appearances, the former Real Madrid player has emerged as a key player in Cesc Fàbregas’ team and is recognized as one of Serie A’s top young talents. This season, with two goals already, he ranks among the league’s top scorers, alongside De Bruyne, Vlahovic, and Çalhanoğlu, just behind Marcus Thuram.

Real Madrid is keeping a close eye on him. The club included a buy-back option when he transferred to Como, allowing them to prioritize re-signing him before 2026.
