Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over Lesotho in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. This win could spark some hope for Lesotho.

The Super Eagles, who were expected to win, had a tough first half, ending at 0-0.

In the second half, Nigeria’s captain William Troost-Ekong scored a penalty in the 52nd minute. Later, in the 80th minute, Victor Osimhen assisted Akor Adams for the second goal. Just two minutes after that, Hlompho Kalake scored for Lesotho, making it 2-1. The score stayed the same until the final whistle.
