Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Siyabonga Nomvethe has expressed disagreement with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos’s recent comments about the team.

After naming his squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers against Zimbabwe and Rwanda, Broos criticized Amakhosi, stating no players from Naturena were included because they weren’t performing well.

Nomvethe countered Broos’s remarks, saying, “I disagree with Broos when he claims that Chiefs didn’t have a good performance against AmaZulu. In all their matches this season, Chiefs have played well.”

He emphasized, “We’re not talking about a team that can’t even reach the goalposts. Chiefs are creating chances in every game; they just need to be more clinical in finishing them.”

Nomvethe added, “Every Chiefs player has been outstanding so far.”

Bafana will take on Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday at 18:00 and then face Rwanda next Tuesday at 18:00 at the Mbombela Stadium.
