Christian Norgaard expressed satisfaction after Arsenal‘s effective use of set-pieces contributed to their comeback victory over Portsmouth in the FA Cup third round.

Arsenal trailed just three minutes into the match against the second-tier team but managed to secure a 4-1 win at Fratton Park.

Set-pieces played a key role, with Arsenal scoring three goals from dead-ball situations. An own goal equalized for Arsenal, followed by Gabriel Martinelli’s hat-trick.

This marks the third instance this season where Arsenal has scored two or more goals from set-pieces in a single match, leading all Premier League teams in this statistic.

Norgaard, who contributed to the equalizer, acknowledged the team’s commitment to mastering this aspect of their game.

“At first, they were on top and could have scored twice, but once we gained momentum in the second half, we could have scored even more than four,” Norgaard stated while speaking to TNT Sport.

“The start was not good enough. We were as prepared as we could be, but playing in these conditions is tough, and Portsmouth deserves credit.”

“Set-piece execution is crucial for our games and for any team,” he continued, highlighting Arsenal’s emphasis on this strategy. “It’s a significant part of our game, and we intend to keep developing and utilizing it.”
