The launch of EA Sports FC 26 is approaching, and some player ratings have been disclosed. In Major League Soccer, Lionel Messi has the highest rating at 86, but Rodrigo De Paul does not hold the second spot as many thought.

De Paul is rated at 84, while LAFC’s new player Son Heung-min takes the second position with a rating of 85. The top three players in the MLS are Messi, Son, and De Paul, with a notable gap to the others.

For players beyond the top three, the ratings are much closer. Thomas Muller from the Vancouver Whitecaps, Sergio Busquets from Inter Miami, and Riqui Puig from LA Galaxy are all rated at 80. Just below, Luis Suarez, Marco Reus, Evander, Emil Forsberg, Carles Gil, Denis Bouanga, and Hany Mukhtar each have a rating of 79.

Other notable ratings include Jordi Alba, Hirving Lozano, and Aleksei Miranchuk at 78, while Wilfried Zaha, Hugo Lloris, and Roman Bürki are rated at 77. EA Sports FC 26 is expected to be released on September 26, with some MLS players seeing significant dips in their ratings compared to previous versions.

What about Cristiano Ronaldo?

Cristiano Ronaldo, from Portugal, has a slightly lower rating than Messi at 85, making him the highest-rated player in the Saudi Pro League. He shares this rating with stars like Iñigo Martinez, Karim Benzema, and N’Golo Kante.

Historically in Ultimate Team mode, both Messi and Ronaldo have received their lowest ratings yet in this game. When they first appeared in the 2010 edition, Messi was rated 91 and Ronaldo was rated 93.

Since joining Inter Miami, Messi started with a rating of 90 in the 2024 edition, which has steadily dropped to the current 86. Ronaldo began with an 86 rating upon his arrival at Al Nassr and experiences his first drop in this latest version.
