Not Roberto Mancini or Antonio Conte, Igor Tudor emerges as favourite for Juventus job

Juventus are reportedly considering Thiago Motta’s future as head coach. Should he part company before the end of the season, the Bianconeri will appoint Igor Tudor as their new coach.

Previously, Thiago Motta’s future as Juventus coach had been in doubt. The main reason for this was the negative results of late.

Not only are the Bianconeri struggling at the top of Serie A, but they are also struggling in other competitions. The Bianconeri were knocked out of the Champions League. They also failed to reach the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia.

Motta has found himself in an increasingly difficult position as his relationship with several players has become strained. They are unhappy with Motta’s attitude, which has seen him put players on the spot following their elimination from the Coppa Italia.

As a result, Juventus are said to be considering several names as potential replacements for Motta. Two of those names are Roberto Mancini and Antonio Conte.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, neither Mancini nor Conte are Juventus’ targets. The Bianconeri will turn to Igor Tudor if they decide to part company with Motta before the end of the season.

Profile Igor Tudor

Igor Tudor is a 46-year-old coach from Croatia. After retiring from football in 2008, Tudor continued his career as a tactician.

Igor Tudor has a wealth of experience in coaching teams such as Udinese, Hadjuk Split, Galatasaray, Marseille, Hellas Verona and Lazio. Tudor was also an assistant coach at Juventus.

In terms of results, however, Igor Tudor has not shone. He only led Hajduk Split to the Croatian Cup once, in 2012-2013.

With his current state of unemployment, it is predicted that Igor Tudor will not turn down the offer to join Juventus. However, it remains to be seen what Juventus will decide, considering that Tudor is less popular with the fans than Mancini or Conte.
