Nottingham Forest Ready to Break Transfer Record to Sign Matheus Cunha

Nottingham are looking like one of the best teams in the Premier League this season currently sit third; right behind Chelsea & Manchester City. The Reds are hoping to bolster their roster for the next campaign with the promise of Champions League football on the horizon.

One of Forest’s top targets is Brazilian striker Matheus Cunha. The club attempted to sign Cunha in the January transfer window, but their bid was rejected by Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, Cunha could be open to leaving Molineux and Forest are prepared to break their transfer record to secure his services.

Forest have already spent £35m on Elliott Anderson, but they will have to pay a much bigger fee to land Cunha. Cunha has a £62m release clause, making him a huge investment, but also a promising one.

The 25-year-old has been one of Wolves’ standout performers this season, despite their struggles in the league. Cunha has scored 13 goals and laid on four assists, demonstrating his quality as a reliable goalscorer.

Cunha’s positional flexibility will also give Nuno more options to adapt his tactics depending on the opposition, as well as increasing competition in attack. The likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga will have to step up their game to earn a place in the starting XI.

Cunha’s presence would add depth to the squad and raise the standard of the team as a whole. As well as Wolves, Forest will also have to compete with big clubs such as Arsenal, who have been linked with the player.

The signing of Cunha would be a huge boost for Forest as they look to cement their place at the top of the Premier League. With his goalscoring ability, creativity and experience, Cunha could be the player Forest desperately need to bolster their attack next season.
