Nottingham Forest is seeking over £80m for Elliot Anderson, despite interest from Premier League teams, and will not sell in January.
Anderson has attracted attention from top Premier League clubs after impressing at the City Ground.
Following his role in helping Nottingham Forest secure European football last season, Anderson has joined the England setup and has established himself in midfield under Thomas Tuchel as the World Cup approaches.
This season, he leads the Premier League in progressive passes and ranks highly in draws for fouls, tackles won, touches, chances created, and crosses.
Manchester United has identified Anderson as a key target, but any transfer is expected to take place in the summer. According to journalist David Ornstein, clubs interested in the midfielder will need to pay between £80m and £100m. Nottingham Forest is aware of the interest and has already received inquiries.
“There will be significant interest in Elliot Anderson, but a transfer won’t happen in January,” Ornstein told NBC Sports.
“The summer could bring a different situation. The fee Forest will demand is expected to be around £80m-£100m. There’s no release clause in his contract, but Forest recognizes that if a substantial offer comes in, they may consider it.”
“He earns £100,000 a week. Interested clubs include Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and others, some of whom have already contacted Forest. Manchester United has made their interest clear, and he is likely at the top of their list for a central midfielder.”
