Nottingham Forest hosts the champions at the City Ground on Saturday, looking to repeat last season’s success.
Sean Dyche’s team previously defeated Manchester City 1-0 at this venue. They aim to achieve back-to-back home league victories against City for the first time in 30 years. Despite a recent loss to Fulham, Forest has performed well at home.
They have won four of their last six games at the City Ground. However, Dyche has yet to win against Pep Guardiola, with a record of 16 attempts without a victory. He will need a solid strategy to change that.
Dyche is facing a number of important absences. Chris Wood is out with a knee injury, and Ola Aina is still working on his fitness. Additionally, the squad is missing Ibrahim Sangaré and Willy Boly due to the Africa Cup of Nations. On a positive note, Nicolas Domínguez and Taiwo Awoniyi are back in the squad.
In goal, Matz Sels is returning, but it seems that John Victor will keep his starting position. In midfield, Ryan Yates and Dan Ndoye are being evaluated, so Douglas Luiz and Elliot Anderson are expected to take on the central roles.
Predicted Nottingham Forest XI: John Victor; Williams, Murillo, Milenković, Savona; Douglas Luiz, Anderson; Hudson-Odoi, Gibbs-White, Hutchinson; Igor Jesus
The Premier League match is set for Saturday, 27 December 2025, at the City Ground, with kick-off at 12:30 pm GMT.
UK viewers can watch the match live on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate, with coverage starting at 11:30 am GMT.
