NPFL: Kano Pillars Appoint Muhammad Babaganaru as Acting Technical Adviser
Kano Pillars Football Club has appointed veteran coach Muhammad Babaganaru as their acting technical adviser. This change follows the suspension of head coach Evans Ogenyi and chief coach Ahmed Garba due to the team’s poor performance in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
The club made the announcement on Tuesday through their media and communications department in Kano, stating that Babaganaru will begin his role immediately.
The management expressed confidence in the 61-year-old’s experience, believing he can help improve the team’s performance as the season continues. So far, Pillars have secured only two wins, two draws, and suffered four losses in their first eight matches, leading to pressure for better results.
Babaganaru is familiar to Kano Pillars fans, having previously managed the club during two different terms. His second term was particularly notable, resulting in an NPFL title. Throughout his career, he has also coached several top Nigerian teams, including Nasarawa United, Wikki Tourists, Lobi Stars, and El-Kanemi Warriors.
