New York City FC has re-signed midfielder Andres Perea through the 2027-28 season, coinciding with MLS’s shift to a summer-spring schedule.

The contract also includes an option for the 2028-29 season.

Perea expressed his feelings about the move, stating, “The past two-and-a-half years with New York City have been incredibly good for me. I’ve felt so much love from the city, my teammates, the entire staff, and the fans, making me truly happy here. I’m really excited to sign a new contract with New York City.”

At 25 years old, Perea contributed an assist in three matches during the recent MLS Cup playoffs before suffering a fractured right leg in the first round against Charlotte FC.

Over three seasons with NYCFC, he has played 62 regular-season games, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.

Throughout his seven-season MLS career, which includes time at Orlando City (2020-22), the Philadelphia Union (2023), and NYCFC, Perea has played 144 games, netting 11 goals and making six assists.
