The qualifiers for EURO 2027 continue for the French U21 team, who drew 1-1 with Switzerland in Lausanne. After a strong 6-0 victory in the first match, coach Gérald Baticle’s team will host the Faroe Islands in Grenoble, aiming to take the lead in Group C. The U21 coach plans to rotate his lineup, given the expected lesser challenge.
In goal, Jaouen will continue after replacing the injured Risser early in the match against Switzerland. The coach has made a total of eight changes to the lineup, which will likely stick to a 4-3-3 formation. Only Yoro in central defense, Ugochukwu in midfield, and captain Tel will retain their starting positions from the match against Switzerland. Notably, Kroupi, the Bournemouth forward who scored the equalizer on Friday, will make his first start on the left wing of the attack.
The Faroe Islands are expected to line up in a 3-4-3 formation, nearly identical to the team that lost 1-3 in their last group match against Switzerland on October 14, with one change: Guilfoss will replace Reynheim at the forefront of the attack.
Official Lineups:
France (4-3-3): Jaouen – Kumbedi, Zeze, Yoro, Belocian – Atangana, Ugochukwu, Bouabré – Tel (c), Meïté, Kroupi.
Faroe Islands (3-4-3): Armgrimsson – Vilhelmsen, Mouritsen, Arngrimsson – Thorleifsson, Hellisdal, Atlason, Jonsson – Samuelsen (c), Guilfoss, Sorensen.
