Despite this, the police did not intervene appropriately given the seriousness of the situation. OGC Nice players strongly condemn the failures in the organization and management of security measures. Considering the context, the number of supporters present, and their manifest hostility, the measures in place were grossly inadequate to ensure the safety of players, staff, and all involved in the match.” The club urged for a thorough investigation to clarify responsibilities so that such incidents do not recur. The players also expressed disappointment regarding the inadequate recognition of the situation’s seriousness and the lack of moral support offered to the injured players, both personally and publicly.
