Endrick seems set to leave Real Madrid this winter. The former Palmeiras star is looking for more playing time to further his development and increase his chances of making the 2026 World Cup squad. He is open to offers, provided they come from a competitive team participating in European competitions.

While Olympique Marseille had been mentioned as a potential destination, Olympique Lyonnais is also in the hunt. According to transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lyon has already started taking steps to acquire the 19-year-old forward during the winter transfer window, with an official approach made to gauge interest.

Out of Favor at Madrid

The plan appears to be a loan until the end of the season, and the player is open to the idea of joining Lyon. Endrick, who was often used as an attacking substitute by Carlo Ancelotti last season, has fallen out of favor since Xabi Alonso took over. Though he missed the early weeks due to injury, he has yet to play a single minute this season, raising concerns across the borders.

The Basque coach has opted not to utilize his skills to break through defenses, and with players like Gonzalo Garcia and Franco Mastantuono surpassing him in the pecking order, his situation has become more complicated. Meanwhile, Paulo Fonseca could benefit from Endrick’s abilities to enhance an otherwise limited attack, especially with Malick Fofana out for several months. Real Madrid is unlikely to block a loan deal for the player, who was originally signed for €35 million plus €25 million in performance-related bonuses. Reports suggest that a loan fee of around €4.5 million could facilitate the deal, even amid Lyon’s financial challenges. His salary is also manageable at €3 million gross per year, with Lyon likely covering half. This is a situation to watch closely.
