Manchester United is in discussions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to make a return to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer is poised to take on the manager position again, having previously served as caretaker after Jose Mourinho’s departure in 2018.

Just three months later, he was appointed as the club’s permanent manager.

With Ruben Amorim recently dismissed, Solskjaer is eager for another chance to lead the team.

CentreDevils has reported that Solskjaer is open to returning, and financial terms are not a concern for him.

He views this opportunity as a way to correct the mistakes from his prior stint, which ended with his release.

Jamie Jackson from The Guardian has also stated that Solskjaer hopes not only to take the caretaker role but to secure a longer-term position.

Similar to his first term, where the caretaker role led to a permanent appointment, Solskjaer is looking for a repeat of that success.

Discussions about his return to Carrington suggest that, if all goes well, a permanent role could be in the works.

Regardless of his eventual appointment, the fact that United has reached out to him and other former players is significant.

Ruud van Nistelrooy and Michael Carrick have also been contacted, indicating the club’s desire to reconnect with former stars who understand Manchester United’s identity.

This move reflects a shift for the club, which has faced criticism for straying from its core values under Amorim’s leadership.
