Olivier Giroud Ends Three-Month Goal Drought in Ligue 1

It felt like an eternity for Olivier Giroud. The star signing of the summer for LOSC, the 38-year-old striker had a strong start with the northern club, scoring two goals in his first two matches in the top league. However, his performance dipped thereafter, and the 2018 World Cup champion failed to score in Ligue 1 for quite some time.

Struggling to compete with Hamza Igamane, the Chambéry native had not found the net since August 23, when he scored in a victory against Monaco. This Sunday, Giroud ended his goal drought, nearly three months later. Against Paris FC, the former Arsenal player assisted Romain Perraud before powerfully equalizing with his left foot.
