City is now just two points behind leaders Arsenal, who will face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby on Sunday.
O’Reilly shares his title ambitions as Man City closes in on Arsenal
“I’m delighted with tonight’s result,” O’Reilly told TNT Sports. “Winning was crucial to close the gap and put pressure on them. I’m also pleased with my two goals.”
He added: “Winning something like this is a dream of mine. There are still many games ahead of us. We need to take it one match at a time. I’m enjoying the experience.”
Arsenal remains the favorite to win the Premier League, but O’Reilly believes Man City can surpass them.
“Absolutely. We always believe in our ability to win. We had a week to prepare for this match, which helped us a lot. We just need to keep pushing forward.”
When asked by the BBC about enjoying the title race, he said: “We’re loving it and relishing every moment. That break helped us recharge, and we have another break coming up before our next game against Leeds on Saturday.”
