Orelsan’s Bold Critique of the Mbappé Family

In 2024, Kylian Mbappé made headlines by becoming one of the youngest owners of a professional football club, acquiring most of the shares of SM Caen through his company, Coalition Capital, managed by his mother, Fayza Lamari. Since this acquisition, SM Caen has faced numerous challenges, especially in sports, finishing its first season in a disappointing position and currently sitting 10th in the National league. This downturn has not gone unnoticed by Orelsan, one of France’s most famous supporters of the club.

<p>The singer recently released his new album, *La Fuite en avant*, and mentions the Mbappé family in one of his tracks, *La petite voix*. He raps, <em>“Don’t pretend to love your city, it’s a mess. It’s dead, that’s why they call you Caennais. It’s filled with folks you just can’t stand. Yeah, you’re going to drag your city down like the Mbappés.”</em> It’s worth noting that Stade Malherbe de Caen has recently laid off 16 employees.</p>
