However, there is a notable departure within the club, as La Provence reported on Wednesday. Roberto Malfitano is leaving the Marseille club, where he was responsible for scouting for the professional team. His appointment occurred in late November 2023, coinciding with Medhi Benatia’s arrival. The local newspaper did not draw any connections between Balzaretti’s arrival and Malfitano’s departure, who was previously a scout for Parma, Zenit Saint Petersburg, and Juventus.
