Orlando City has submitted a formal complaint to Leagues Cup organizers about the officiating in their 3-1 semifinal loss to Inter Miami, according to WESH 2. The match on August 27 in Fort Lauderdale included controversial calls, such as a second-half penalty that resulted in David Brekalo’s red card.

After the match, captain Robin Jansson received a straight red card for allegedly insulting the referees, leading to increased tension. Orlando’s appeal against the suspension was rejected by the tournament’s disciplinary committee.

A spokesperson for the team confirmed that the Leagues Cup officials acknowledged the complaint, but there has been no further response. Orlando concluded their tournament with a 2-1 defeat to the LA Galaxy in the third-place match.
