“Luis is a talented young player that we’re excited to bring to Orlando,” said general manager and sporting director Ricardo Moreira. “At just 18, he’s already shown he can compete at a high level in Brazil, and we believe his defensive skills and calmness will work well in MLS.”

“Bringing him in under the U22 Initiative allows us to invest in his growth while strengthening our midfield for the future. Luis is a player for Orlando City’s future.”

Otavio joins a South American midfield group that includes Colombia’s Eduard Atuesta and Peru’s Wilder Cartagena.
