Green Bay Packers Make Final Call on Josh Jacobs for Week 15 Against Denver Broncos

The Green Bay Packers, currently 9-3-1, aim to hold their spot in the NFC North when they play the Denver Broncos today. This is a tough challenge as the Broncos lead the AFC with an 11-2 record and are on a 10-game winning streak. They are also unbeaten at home this season, and the Packers haven’t secured a win there since 2007.

This week, the Packers faced difficulties in practicing due to injuries in their running back group. Marshawn Lloyd is sidelined with a new hamstring injury, delaying his anticipated debut. Additionally, three-time Pro Bowler Josh Jacobs only returned to practice in a limited capacity on Friday.

On Saturday night, Emanuel Wilson was added to the injury report due to an illness, prompting the Packers to elevate Pierre Strong from the practice squad as a precaution.

Josh Jacobs, who has been dealing with a knee injury from a game against the New York Giants in Week 13, is set to play today. Although an MRI showed no structural damage, Jacobs had significant swelling.

He played against the Chicago Bears last week, achieving 20 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown in the 28-21 victory. However, the knee issue persisted, leading to another MRI this week that thankfully returned clean results, even though he missed practice time.

Recent reports indicate that Jacobs will be available for the game:

While Jacobs is confirmed to play, the Packers will assess Wilson’s condition closer to game time before deciding if he will participate.

Jacobs’ involvement is a significant advantage for the Packers’ offense. He has averaged over 90 rushing yards per game and has scored nine touchdowns against the Broncos in his career.
