Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner wants to keep Marc Guehi at the club past the January transfer window.
With only six months left on his contract, the centre-back might be sold next month if the team wishes to receive a fee rather than risk losing him for free in the summer.
According to BBC Sport, it seems likely that Guehi will stay at Palace for the remainder of the season before considering a move, with interest from various Premier League and international clubs.
After the team’s loss to Spurs on Sunday, Glasner told BBC Match of the Day that they are eager to retain their captain during the winter transfer window. “Of course we want to keep everybody,” he mentioned.
Glasner discusses Guehi’s future and January transfers
Regardless of Guehi’s situation in January, Palace plans to make additions to strengthen the squad, which has been tested by a packed schedule. They have already played 30 matches this season, thanks to their participation in the UEFA Conference League and advancing to the quarter-finals of the League Cup.
When asked about possible reinforcements, Glasner replied: “Let’s see. Given how we performed against Tottenham, where it seemed like every shot counted, we will evaluate our position.
“The numbers tell the story. We consistently underperform in converting chances despite creating many. This issue needs to be addressed.”
