Lucas Paqueta is looking to leave West Ham for Flamengo this month instead of waiting until summer.
Flamengo’s initial offer for the midfielder was rejected, but they have now increased their bid to €41m (£35.5m) for the Brazilian player.
West Ham had hoped to keep Paqueta at the club until the end of the season.
Currently, West Ham is in the Premier League relegation zone and is fighting to maintain their top-tier status.
Nevertheless, Paqueta prefers to make the move to Flamengo now, as their 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A kicks off on Friday against Sao Paulo. Flamengo is the defending champion, having won their eighth title last season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Flamengo’s director José Boto is in negotiations with West Ham about payment terms. Talks between the two clubs are still ongoing.
