The Confederation of African Football (CAF) president highlighted two key reasons for the postponement of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The tournament, initially scheduled from March 17 to April 3, has been rescheduled to run from July 25 to August 16, 2026. When asked about the changes, the CAF president pointed to several issues.
Patrice Motsepe noted that the CAF aims to elevate the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations into a prominent and competitive event. He also mentioned that unforeseen challenges made it difficult to maintain the original timetable.
Motsepe reiterated CAF’s commitment to promoting women’s football and ensuring it receives the recognition it deserves.
